Amazon Race Forest 3-Day Adventure
Friday, November 27 – Sunday, November 29, 2020
A jungle race located just outside of Tarapoto, San Martin, in the high jungle plateau of the Amazon rainforest. Runners will hear the sounds of the rainforest, see animals, race through trees, leap over rivers and be one with jungle. A true Amazon experience.
Run in Peru takes care of all of your logistics (once in Tarapoto), accommodations, meals, translation barriers (if they apply), and creates a hassle-free experience for you in Peru, so that you can simply run and enjoy the Amazon Race Forest.
THE RACE
3-Day Adventure Details
Pre-Race Nov. 27-28 – We will meet in Tarapoto City Friday afternoon, 5pm, pick up race kits and enjoy dinner out in the jungle town. We will be staying at a local Sanctuary in the Amazon. On Saturday, we will hike the Cerro Escalera Regional Conservation Area, swim in natural springs and even rappel down a 50m waterfall! There is no better way experience the Amazon than to jump right in! After, we will have a nice dinner and prepare for the race.
Sunday, Nov. 29: Race Day! All races will start and finish in San Roque de Cumbaza, San Martin, Peru, near Tarapoto city. Prepare for damp mountain terrain in low altitude. Participants can chose to race in any one of the following distances:
- 5k: 8:30am
- 10k: 8am / Max time: 3hrs / +518m (1,700ft) Elevation Gain
- 24k: 7:30am / Max time: 6hrs / +1,355m (4,455ft) Elevation Gain
- 50k: 6am / Max time: 12hrs / +2,512m (8,241ft) Elevation Gain

After the race, we will hang out for bit and enjoy the post-race vibes with a celebratory lunch.
This adventure will take place in Tarapoto City. To get to Tarapoto from Lima, you will need to purchase a R/T flight (airlines LATAM, VivaAir, Sky Airline, Star Peru). Expect R/T flight cost to be around $70. Please arrive in Tarapoto anytime before 5pm on Friday and return to Lima after 6pm on Sunday.
