Upcoming Jungle Races
Jungle Races – Everyone wants to visit the jungle, but have you ever considered racing through it? Hear the sounds of animals, trek or run through endless green forests, cross rivers and climb through layers of the rainforest. The jungle races are a totally new experience for most trail runners. What are the diferences? Both Tarapoto and Chancamayo are a full jungle experience, in jungle villages remote from the capital city. Neither are easy to get to, but with Run in Peru tours, logistics is made simple! Both are low altitude races full of jungle/mountain terrain where trail running shoes are a must. Lomas de Lachay is included as well in the list of jungle races, but only a part of the race is in jungle-like terrain, and the area around it is not officially the Jungle or the Amazon, so if you are looking for a full jungle experience, select one of the two former races.

A jungle race in the middle of Peru! Travel off the tourist track 100% strait to the jungle for a race like you have never experienced before. The Chanchamayo green trail is a fun 17, 26, and 42k race in the depths of the Peruvian jungle. The altitude is low, so but there are some tough elevation gains, so be prepared!

Amazon Race Forest | November 29, 2020
A jungle race located just outside of Tarapoto, in the high jungle plateau of the Amazon rainforest. Runners will hear the sounds of the rainforest, see animals, race through trees, leap over rivers and be one with jungle. A true Amazon experience.

Lomas de Lachay Andes Race | October 10, 2020
Lomas de Lachay is the most geographically diverse race offered. It is a very unique experience that allows runners to race through jungle terrain, desert sand, and mountain trails all within 10 or 22 kilometers! Conveniently, the race is just a 4 hour drive from Lima.
