2020, will be the 10 year anniversary of the famous Amazon Race Forest jungle race in the region of San Martin, Peru, 30 minutes from Tarapoto town! There will be 4 routes: 5k, 10k, 24k and 50k: a race perfect for all running levels. The Amazon Race Forest was the first jungle race organized in Peru, with the objective to contribute to the local Amazon region through: promoting tourism and healthy living, raising awareness on how to protect the Amazon Forest, and integrating local communities with the diverse participants.
The race is at low elevation. Expect the weather to be hot and humid, and sometimes rainy. Racers will run through slightly wet terrain where waterproof trail running shoes are highly recommended. Runners will be exposed to lots of vegetation and surrounded by the sounds of animals. Bring your bug repellent and sunscreen, and experience the jungle like never before! This race is a favorite among locals, an incredible experience you won’t want to miss.
