Spartan Race Peru Details

Race Day: Saturday, April 25, 2020

Get ready, because the World’s best Obstacle Race is coming to Peru for the first time ever this April!

Push yourself both emotionally and physically through 20 obstacles and 5k of running up and around the Morro Solar Mountain in Chorrillos, Lima.  Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone, and expect to get dirty, climb ropes, carry dead weight and crawl your way through obstacles to get to the finish line.

Racers will run through the ancient battle grounds of San Juan and Chorrillos which was fought during the war of the Pacific during the 1880s where Peru fought to protect its land against the Chilean invasion. Racers will run past famous statues and monuments, creating a cultural experience unique to other Spartan Races globally.

This race is far all levels of obstacle course racers: first time newbies excited to for a new experience to veteran OCR racers. Pick a category that best suits your level!

  • Elite Men & Elite Woman categories for designed for racers who will be testing themselves against the top in the country and in the region. Often these athletes are sponsored and looking to rise to the top of the Spartan Race Point Series. This is the most expensive category, and a 30-burpee-penalty is strictly enforced to athletes for every obstacle that is not completed correctly.
  • Age Group category is designed for athletes who have done an obstacle race (or something similar) before and are competing to improve their time and push themselves to the limits. This category also enforces a 30-burpee-penalty and awards top racers (although there is no prize money, just ego-boosts, and podium photos!). The advantage to this category over Open, is that there are much fewer competitors and so, racers will not encounter lines or bottlenecks of people waiting to attempt the more difficult obstacles.
  • Open category is designed for those who want to run their first 5k obstacle course race! Ideal or groups of friends that want to do it together, and just want to have a good time. Racers in this category can help each other out through the obstacles, and will not be

Advice: do not run with your cellphone! You can put it in a locker at the race. Don’t wear cotton, it gets heavy when it gets wet. Wear clothes that are lightweight and not lose so to not get stuck on anything!
