This year, 2020, will be the 6thedition of The North Face Ultra Trail Cordillera Blanca trail race. With over 300 participants annually, TNF is proud to consider this one its best races on global level. The Cordillera Blanca mountain range is known in Peru to have the most breathtaking views along the Andes of South America. Every year, TNF organizes this event during the Public Holiday on June 29th, working together with the local government to celebrate the Andean Festival, Festival del Andinismo, commemorating the culture of the Andes, its people, and the beauty of outdoor sports.
The Cordillera Blanca in Huascaran National Park is quite arguably the best trail running in South America, if not the world. The views are stunning, with mountain sun beaming in the day, and views of white topped mountains, and turquoise blue glacier lakes. The altitude is high, and it is important to acclimate a few days prior, and check with your doctor for any concerns related.
The race itself will be on Monday, June 29th, but TNF also offers a 6k (~4m) optional vertical night run with 1100m/ 3,600ft of vertical gain to Lake Ahuac on Friday, June 26thto help acclimate before.
